Indigo Cotton Tapestry

For centuries in West Africa, indigo cloth was a symbol of power and wealth. This exquisite throw is hand-woven by artisans in Burkina Faso and dyed with indigo powder extracted from the leaves of the Indigofera tinctoria plant. Although, the use of synthetic indigo is widely prominent today, there are still small groups of artisans that still process the plant to create traditional gorgeous cloths such as this.

Fair trade products are primarily handcrafted and made from natural, sustainable, and recycled materials, therefore slight imperfections and color variations may occur.
