  • These stunning capiz shell chimes catch the light with a soft shimmer and create a delicate, soothing tinkling sound when hung outdoors. The capiz shells are sourced from a fishing village in Java, where skilled artisans sustainably harvest and shape each shell by hand. Balizen designs each capiz chime and carefully handcrafts it in a fair trade, in-house workshop in Bali.

  • Why You'll Love It: Every part of the jingle oyster is thoughtfully used: the meat is consumed as food, the main shell is crafted into handicrafts, and the remaining shell material is repurposed as fertilizer. Only mature shells are collected from the kelp beds where they grow, helping preserve space and nutrients for younger shells to thrive.

  • Materials: Capiz shells

  • Dimensions: 4.5” x 4.5” x 15”
